I worked for months, working 12- hour days cleaning floors and taking wallpaper down with one baby strapped to my back while the other babies were crawling inside the playpen. Ha! The home was beginning to appear nice, however there were a few things left. In order to furnish the house it would be a huge effort with regards to time and money. It was also going to be a challenge to do my favourite shopping. To stay in the realm of budgets, I took to going with my boys to estate sales looking for of diamonds. We would go from between Thursday and Saturday in estate sales and garage sales purchasing old and brand new furniture. After that, I stenciled and polished in the driveway throughout the week. The furniture I found looked like... This is when my desire to repair furniture started. Although our house was fully furnished, I could not put down. I had a space in the market at my local location and also sold items there. Eventually, my collection grew to the point that the space that I was living in was not enough. I hosted open houses at my house where 1 thousand people would visit over a weekend, and visitors could buy anything from the first floor. My company Growing Days began here. The business wasn't just flourishing, but I was also growing my sweet family too. As a young mom, I found the right equilibrium to start my own company and being a decent mother. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora joined us in 2013 and became our fourth baby. This was an excellent direction for my business, however I was also in need of a vacation. I decided to stop building my old furniture for a while and spend time with my kids. That was exactly what i required. After a few minutes, my phone began getting busy. Many people called me to ask for advice on home improvement and decorating. A majority of those calling me came from people who visited my home at one of the furniture open house events. It wasn't long before I was managing a full-scale home renovation company. I began by taking clients with a speed I was confident in. If you had predicted that this venture that I started would become an idea for a TV show on DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. It's funny to think back to it.
