April Lockhart
April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her musical journey in the 7th grade in which she began piano and guitar classes. April Lockhart composed her first single, Different at the age twelve years old. In her 14th year April spent a lot of her day singing and writing songs. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle influencer, as well as having partnerships with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia, has built an impressive following. She was not born with a left-hand, which is the reason she's who she is. It's just not the whole story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't shy away from her being disabled, but neither does it focus on it. What is the message? It's crucial to understand that everyone has many faces, our identities vary and we are much more than our bodies. Lockhart talks via video in Nashville. "I do not intend to let it define my existence. I don't want to be only identified as a specialist in disability. It doesn't impact my daily life. I do my normal activities and I've adapted to my disability. This is also part of me, and I believe it's something that needs to be addressed. Her journey to self-acceptance is one that will last for a long time, and she has been a source of inspiration with regard to this. Lockhart admits to having gone through phases where she was uncomfortable wearing certain clothing styles which displayed her arms. Now she wears whatever outfit she likes and uploads photos on her Facebook page with pride. It's a journey is what I'm not sure if you ever arrive she says of self-love. But, this isn't the case with anyone who has insecurities. The people around you with, who know your personal story and who can look inside your soul are the best people to help you remember what you're worrying about.
