Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 at an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi is a Romanian gymnastics teacher who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci when she was just six years old. Her first competition was in the national junior championships in which she finished 13th in the year 1969. In the year 1970, she was crowned champion. Her first ever international competition in 1972, she won the event having won three golds. At her first competitive event at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva, a Russian athlete, won five gold medals, as well with one silver. She was the first woman to perform a reverse double salo on the uneven parallel bar after winning the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she started appearing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne born 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol ventured into the entertainment business during her teenage years. She began her professional career by performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister in one of the touring entertainment shows Ice Capades. It featured dramatic ice-skating shows.
